Please welcome back Tom Morgan Racing as a SSVMX Gold Sponsor for the 2021-22 race season. Tom has a long history of building fast motorcycles whether for motocross, drag racing or street bikes. In 1980 Tom took a position at Kawasaki Motor Corp, USA in the Research and Development department initially for the street bike projects but then later moved to help with off road projects such as the KX60, KX80/100, KX250, KX500 and worked extensively on the first 3 wheeler, the KLT200.
At the end of 1982, Tom moved to the factory motocross team as a lead mechanic. His riders included Billy Liles from ‘83-‘85, Eddie Warren in ’86, Jeff Ward ’87-’92 and Mike LaRocco in ’93. During this timeframe, Tom collected 5 AMA National titles and 5 AMA mechanic of the year awards. He attended the MX des Nations 7 times and was one of the key forces in Kawasaki’s choice to implement the first big rig in motocross history and was team chief in ’91-’93.
Cool resume, right? So, now with over 40 years of high performance engine building experience, you may ask what can he do for you? I can tell you from first hand experience that TMR knows how to make power. He has done performance modifications to several of my engines and they were always noticeable to me. Never was there a time I would say to myself “hmmm, I think I feel a difference”. So if you’re interested in performance engine work, check him out. Call him or email him. Believe it or not, unlike others, he’s one of those guys that actually gets back to you within a day or so. His web address is www.MorganRacingEngines.com
Many of you already know Gerald Sammons and the magic he performs with T-shirt, jersey and custom vintage number plate graphics. For those who don’t, Gerald is a very long time supporter of vintage motocross in Florida. He supported the previous club and is now back to support the Sunshine State Vintage Motocross Club.
Gerald can customize your jersey with your name and number in a style that’s unique to you. The same thing applies to your vintage number plates. Don’t settle for the cookie cutter graphics when you can get custom graphics that makes you and your bike stand out.
Gerald is also launching a new product called the “Moto Sleeve” that he will be introducing to the club this season. I’ve seen this patented product and it’s really cool. It’s no doubt something we can all use. Their website and further information is coming soon.
It would be hard to find a person who is more passionate about preserving vintage motocross through jersey and graphic designs (including decals) so contact him at: email@example.com or (407)960-1411.

Van Meter Engineering, Inc. is a new Gold sponsor of SSVMX for the 2021-22 season. You may recognize the owners as Dave, Kylie and Wyatt Van Meter who are active members of SSVMX.
Van Meter Engineering, Inc. is a full-service engineering and manufacturing company. Our mission is to design and fabricate obsolete or hard to find parts for vintage motorcycles, aircraft, and automobiles. By combining the initial engineering and design process with fabrication, it is possible to recreate vintage parts that are no longer available or work with customers to create new designs. 3D modeling software is used for initial drafting and design. Parts are then manufactured to equal or exceed OEM standards. In-house machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication services are available.
Our team has a unique background in engineering and business (and a love for motocross):
Kylie Van Meter is a Mechanical Engineering PhD student at Florida State University and holds two bachelor’s degrees in aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from UF. Kylie has over 6 years of machining, CNC, and design experience, giving her the skills to professionally design the parts you need and assure accuracy and strength in our product.
Dave Van Meter has been involved with motorcycles since 1975. He has participated in motocross, enduro and road racing. He has many years of welding and fabrication experience, and in-depth knowledge of motorcycle and automobile restoration and maintenance.
Wyatt Van Meter is currently a licensed Commercial Pilot working on his Certified Flight Instructor license and bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Wyatt will be focusing on Product Development working with customers to make sure their products perform to their expectations.
Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or just come find us at the SSVMX races. We will be happy to discuss your project and start working toward making it a reality. www.vanmeterengineering.com
